This Privacy Policy explains how the Slice mobile app (the “App”) collects, uses, and shares information.

1. Information We Collect

• Bill Details: Bill title, items, prices, and totals.
• Friend Names: Names you add to split bills with.
• Images (Receipt Scanning): If you use the "Scan Bill" feature, the App sends your receipt image to OpenAI (our AI provider) solely to extract items and totals.
• Payment Data: All in-app purchases are handled securely by the Google Play Store / Apple App Store. We do not store or access your credit card details.

2. How We Use Information

• To calculate and manage shared expenses.
• To extract data from receipts using AI.
• To verify your Premium Subscription status.
• To generate summaries you can share with friends.

3. Sharing and Disclosure

• We do not sell your personal data.
• OpenAI: Receipt images are processed by OpenAI to return receipt details.
• App Stores: Subscription data is shared with Google/Apple for payment processing.
• Sharing: When you choose to "Share," a text summary is generated for you to send via third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp).

4. Data Storage

• Local Storage: Most data (bill history, friends, settings) is stored locally on your device.
